About Air Intake Parts

Air intakes direct incoming air to air filters which remove abrasive particles like dust before the air enters the engine. The filters are typically made of paper, which has a limited life, but some filter elements are made of foam or cotton which can last for many years with cleaning and "recharging" with filter fluid. Cold air intakes bring lower temperature air into the engine which can increase horsepower. Short ram intakes can increase the volume of air and therefore increase power.
